Handmade pasta tools & other kitchen crafts
Fatto in Northern Illinois
This garganelli-gnocchi board is handmade from a 100 year old design originating from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The 1/8” slats are a mix of domestic & exotic foodsafe hardwoods hand-woven with natural jute and cherry bookends. Every board is made with integrity and is unique in pattern, therefore there may be blemishes in the wood which I find adds a charming character. My hope is that this pasta board will serve you both as a statement piece for your countertop and a trustworthy kitchen tool for years to come.
All boards are a little different but measure approximately 9”x7”x1”
This pasta board has an engraved surface reminiscent of the suckers on an octopus’ tentacles. It creates a great looking rolled pasta with tons of surface area for sauce!

This style of board dates back to the 16th century. The cooler climate of Northern Italy provided great conditions for potatoes & pretty mediocre grains. Hence the wonderful gnocchi was born. The ribs on the board give the pasta its characteristic ridges, adding surface area for sauce to hang on to. This paddle is made from a single piece of Bubinga hardwood then hand shaped. Food safe finish applied.
Each board is a little different but all roughly measure
